The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Sri Lanka’s Education Affairs was established in March 2020 to relook at the overall education system in the country.

Citra was engaged to look at the transformation from a technology & innovation lens in keeping with the Lab’s core area of re-engineering processes. Citra developed an initial funding proposal for the World Bank in order to secure funding of approximately USD 25Mn and went on to play a key role in the Core Facilitation Team of the PTF to facilitate a future-oriented out of the box approach while building synergies between future skills, jobs and opportunities for youth.

Citra was also a part of the Digital and IT core group and conducted Sri Lanka’s first ever virtual design thinking workshop with the support of the Strategic Innovation Advisor at UNDP HQ and the Lead Learning Designer at UNDP’s Accelerator Lab Network to ensure a human-centered approach to the development of the action plan. Citra supported the PTF in finalising the PTF’s action plan which identifies the short, medium- and long-term recommendations. The Lab was also identified to be the Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit for the PTF and was requested to work closely with core group members as well as industry experts and key stakeholders to monitor the implementation of the recommendations over the next 14-18 months.
